During the early conceptual phase, Envirolink communicated a steadfast desire to have an interface that expressed "organic and tactile" qualities. Based on that desire, the use of stones emerged as basic elements and easily merged with the overall concept. The original stones scanned for these icons were found on a beach in the Puget Sound of Washington state.

The symbols used in the icons are old and have been part of civilizations for hundreds of years. By digitally etching the symbols in stone, we were able to preserve this feel and produce very "touchable" icons and buttons.
