Founded in 1994, FryDesign, LLC has been serving our clients for more than 25 years.
While focusing on icon design for some of our clients, their needs were considerable. In order to manage the sheer number of icons, we developed the Icon Design Manager. The Icon Design Manager is a web-based application capable of monitoring well over 10,000 individual icons. CAD systems can have thousands of icons.
In the early 1990s, while I was working for Aldus Corp, I created an early version of the Icon Design Manager as a SuperCard application. It was distributed to various global Aldus locations via email. Users would launch the program, rate the icon designs, and provide comments. The data was returned and compiled. It proved incredibly helpful and provided diverse perspectives.
Today, we utilize a new and highly customizable web-based version of the Icon Design Manager, allowing clients to view and manage ongoing work remotely. It is built with Python, Django, and Bootstrap and uses PostgreSql to power the database.
